Utility crews working to restore electrical service after an outageAlabama Power crews worked through the evening to restore service to Mobile and Bayou La Batre customers.

Power has been restored to nearly all of the customers affected by Saturday’s outages in the Mobile and Bayou La Batre areas, according to Alabama Power.

The utility said about 2,500 customers were in the dark as of roughly 5:30 p.m. on July 13. By late that evening, crews had brought service back for nearly all of them, leaving only about 60 customers still without electricity across the two south Mobile County communities.

Alabama Power did not immediately detail what caused the outages. Customers still without service at the time were expected to be reconnected as line crews finished working through the remaining trouble spots.
