Drivers in Mobile with a stack of unpaid parking tickets could soon find their vehicles immobilized. City officials announced that, beginning June 1, the city’s parking management contractor will team up with the Mobile Police Department to place boots on vehicles whose owners have five or more outstanding parking fines.
Warning Period Through May
Before enforcement begins, city team members will spend the remainder of May handing out warnings to drivers who have racked up more than five unpaid tickets. The grace period is meant, according to the city, to “create awareness and provide ample time” for drivers to settle what they owe before booting starts.
Anyone with outstanding tickets from the City of Mobile can pay by contacting Republic Parking at 251-438-9132.
