LuLu’s in Gulf Shores is inviting the Gulf Coast to shake off the midweek slump with a sunset performance from singer-songwriter Adam Holt on Wednesday, Sept. 26. The free show starts at 5 p.m. at the waterfront venue, located at 200 E. 25th Ave.
Holt’s versatile sound has earned him stage time alongside notable acts including Lynyrd Skynyrd and blues drummer Willie “Big Eyes” Smith. His musical range is on full display in his latest album, “The Sunday Troubadour,” which blends modern Southern rock with the arena country sound of the 1990s into what fans have described as a skillful aural mix. Organizers expect Holt’s set to give the midweek crowd enough energy to carry them through the rest of the workweek.
Beyond performing, Holt has spent recent months building out the production side of his music career. He opened Studio ’78 in Daphne, a recording facility that offers both digital and analog recording methods, an offering that sets it apart from other studios in the Mobile Bay area.
The Red Clay Strays, a Southern rock band that has been building a following across the Gulf Coast, have already made use of Holt’s analog recording setup at Studio ’78. The collaboration has fueled speculation about whether the band’s full-length debut album could be on the way soon.
