Young adventurers have plenty to look forward to this week in Baldwin County, from hands-on building activities and homeschool resources to free math assessments that can help students head into the new school year with confidence.
The countdown to a new school year is on, but it doesn’t have to be all pencils and paperwork — learning is a lot more fun when it includes LEGOs, new friends and discovering that math can add up to a good time.
Free Math Skills Assessments
Mathnasium of Eastern Shore is offering free math skills assessments for students preparing for the new school year. The assessments are open to the public with no enrollment or commitment required, and participants receive an evaluation of their math strengths and areas that may need improvement before classes begin. Current Mathnasium students will be assessed during their regular instructional sessions and do not need to schedule a separate appointment. Families interested in scheduling an assessment can contact Mathnasium of Eastern Shore directly.

Baldwin County Homeschool Expo
White Sands Academy will host the Baldwin County Homeschool Expo, a biannual event connecting homeschool families with educational resources and community organizations. Attendees can meet local groups, explore curriculum options, learn about educational programs and extracurricular opportunities, and connect with other homeschool families. Vendors will offer products and services designed to support homeschooling families and students.

Free Build at Fairhope Public Library
Fairhope Public Library will host Free Build in the Activity Room for children of all ages. The room will be stocked with Lincoln Logs, blocks, LEGOs and other building materials for unstructured play and exploration. Parents are required to supervise their children and assist with cleanup.
