Mobile Sent Hurricane Gustav Aid to Baton Rouge in 2008

James Bullard, September 3, 2008

After Hurricane Gustav, Mobile sent supplies and city crews to Baton Rouge, according to a WKRG report from September 2008.

Mobile Fire-Rescue was to transport 5,000 bottles of water, 1,800 meals ready to eat and eight generators. The city’s Urban Development Department was also sending an Urban Forestry crew with chainsaws, a bucket truck and other equipment to clear fallen trees.

Mayor Sam Jones said Baton Rouge officials had identified those resources as needed.

This is a historical summary of a 2008 local disaster-response report.
