ATMORE, Ala. — An investigation is underway after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a CSX freight train in Atmore on Wednesday afternoon.
The fatal incident occurred along the railroad tracks near Martin Luther King Avenue in Escambia County. Authorities have not released the victim’s name.
Details about the circumstances of the crossing were not immediately available. The death remains under investigation.
