James Bullard, July 23, 2008

Originally reported July 23, 2008.

Investigators examined the death of a worker at the new Robertsdale Elementary School campus in July 2008, according to an archived WKRG report.

The man, described as a father and Little League baseball umpire, died while working inside a classroom. Investigators said he fell from a ladder and may have been electrocuted.

Baldwin County school officials said the worksite fatality was devastating for the school system as it prepared for the new campus to open the next month.

This historical account avoids graphic detail and does not state later investigative findings.
