Citronelle Man Was Named Suspect in 2007 Homicide Investigation
Mobile County authorities named a Citronelle man, the victim's neighbor and coworker, as a suspect in the Aug. 17 killing of a Vulcan Industries plant manager.
CITRONELLE, Ala. — Mobile County authorities have named a Citronelle man as a suspect in the Aug. 17 killing of a Vulcan Industries plant manager, but he has not been charged with murder, the sheriff said.
The victim was found shot inside a truck near his home on Dogwood Lane in Citronelle, according to the report.
Authorities said the suspect was the victim’s neighbor and also worked with him.
Separate charges
The man had been charged separately with theft and with making a false report to law enforcement.
Investigators said they did not believe his account of an earlier attack on him. They alleged that he had caused his own injury.
Deputies also alleged that money had been taken from company funds. They did not say publicly how, or whether, that allegation was connected to the killing.
The sheriff said no murder charge had been filed and the investigation was continuing.
