Escambia County Sheriff’s deputies took 15 people off the street during an early-morning prostitution sting in the Brownsville area, capping an operation that ran through the pre-dawn hours of March 23.
Twelve of those arrested were men charged with solicitation, while three women faced prostitution charges, according to the sheriff’s office. The sweep targeted an area of Pensacola where street-level vice activity has been a recurring complaint.
The operation was one more round in the agency’s continuing effort to push prostitution and the criminal activity that often travels with it out of Pensacola neighborhoods. Deputies have staged similar stings throughout Escambia County in recent years, typically working the same corridors where residents and business owners have flagged problems.
Investigators did not release the identities of those arrested, though booking information for all 15 was made available through the sheriff’s office following the sweep. Charges filed in the operation are misdemeanor offenses, but authorities note that repeat offenders can escalate to felony exposure under Florida law.
The sheriff’s office has encouraged residents to keep reporting suspected vice activity, saying community tips help determine where future operations are concentrated.
