Alchemy Tavern is once again turning its stage over to some of Mobile’s most active local acts, with a weekend lineup pairing three bands that have each built loyal followings on the Azalea City underground scene. The show brings together Jaguarundi, Black Titan and The Volks for a night that spans alternative rock, stoner metal and garage-rock influenced sounds.
Jaguarundi, a four-piece that describes its sound as alternative rock with punk roots and progressive elements, will perform songs from its debut album, “… Goes on the Offensive.” The band has become known around Mobile for blending aggressive energy with more intricate, exploratory songwriting, a combination that has helped it stand out among the city’s crowded rock scene.
Also on the bill is Black Titan, a group that brings old-school stoner metal into a modern setting. The band’s heavy, resonant sound has won over listeners well beyond Mobile, with fans as far away as Austin, Texas. Black Titan built much of that following while touring behind its self-titled debut EP, and the band’s live sets are known for their volume and intensity.

The group has already played some of the area’s most recognizable stages, including The Hangout and Soul Kitchen Music Hall, and its style mixes garage rock with a heavy dose of stage presence.
