Interstate Car Chase Ended in Mobile County in 2008

James Bullard, May 5, 2008

Two people were taken into custody in Mobile County after a vehicle chase that began in Biloxi in May 2008, according to WKRG.

Biloxi police said a van nearly struck an officer during a traffic stop, then fled west on Interstate 10. The driver and passenger left the van near Exit 10 in Mobile County. The passenger was captured immediately, while the driver was found in nearby woods after a multi-agency search.

Police said the driver was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and that the van had been reported stolen from Louisiana. No injuries were reported.

This is a historical account of law-enforcement statements reported in 2008. It does not state final court outcomes.
