The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help identifying a man suspected of robbing a McDonald’s restaurant in Grand Bay at gunpoint, an incident that unfolded late on a Monday night and left investigators searching for leads.
Authorities said deputies were called to the McDonald’s location in Grand Bay just before 11 p.m. on April 15, 2013, after employees reported that an armed man had entered the restaurant and demanded cash from the register.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was dressed in a blue and black jacket, black shoes, gloves and a mask, and was carrying a semi-automatic pistol when he confronted the manager on duty. Investigators said he forced the manager to empty the cash register before fleeing the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
No injuries were reported during the robbery, and deputies canvassed the surrounding area in Grand Bay shortly after the call came in, but the suspect had already left the scene by the time officers arrived.
The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said the case remains under active investigation, and detectives are continuing to review any available evidence from the scene as they work to identify the man responsible. Robberies at fast-food restaurants and other late-night businesses remain a persistent concern for law enforcement across Mobile County, and investigators routinely ask nearby businesses and residents to report any suspicious activity in the area around the time of an incident.
