The Mobile Museum of Art launches its MUSEmusic Series with a performance by Amphibian Lark on July 17 at 7 p.m. in Larkins Auditorium.
Amphibian Lark is the duo of Lydia LeVert and Simeon Coxe. LeVert writes the material and sings, playing bass and vocals, while Coxe handles electronics. Reviewers have described their sound as electro-cabaret with an edge.
Coxe is best known for his work in Silver Apples, the pioneering 1960s electronic rock group that continues to tour internationally. Amphibian Lark released its full-length debut album in December 2013.
The MUSEmusic Series celebrates homegrown Gulf Coast talent, featuring local emerging and established performers in an unplugged setting. A $10 donation is suggested at the door, with beer and wine available by donation.
