Alabama football coach Nick Saban visited Mobile in April 2009 as the featured speaker at the Team Focus Dinner at the University of South Alabama’s Mitchell Center.
Team Focus is a mentoring program founded by Mike and Mickey Gottfried. Mike Gottfried was an ESPN analyst and the brother of then-South Alabama athletic director Joe Gottfried.
Fundraising event brought coach to Mobile
After the dinner, Saban spoke with reporters about Team Focus, Alabama’s spring football work and his earlier departure from the Miami Dolphins.
The evening connected a nationally prominent college-football coach with a Mobile mentoring organization and its supporters.
