South Alabama Football Kickoff Times, TV Set for Southern Miss, Bowling Green and Georgia Southern

South Alabama and the Sun Belt Conference set kickoff times and broadcast plans for the 2021 opener against Southern Miss, a trip to Bowling Green and a Thursday night game with Georgia Southern.

MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama football kickoff times and television plans are now set for three of the Jaguars’ 2021 games, the university and the Sun Belt Conference announced Thursday.

The announcement covers the season opener against Southern Miss, a September road trip to Bowling Green and a Thursday night Sun Belt Conference matchup with Georgia Southern. Two of the three games will be played at Hancock Whitney Stadium, the on-campus stadium the Jaguars opened in 2020.

Wommack Debut Against Southern Miss

The opener against Southern Miss will kick off at 7 p.m. at Hancock Whitney Stadium and will be streamed on ESPN+. The game will be the first for Kane Wommack as South Alabama’s head coach. Wommack was hired in December 2020 to lead the program, becoming the youngest head coach in the Football Bowl Subdivision at the time of his hiring.

Road Trip to Bowling Green

On Saturday, Sept. 11, South Alabama travels to Bowling Green, Ohio, to face the Bowling Green Falcons of the Mid-American Conference. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m., and the game will also be carried on ESPN+.

Thursday Night Against Georgia Southern

The Jaguars’ Sun Belt Conference meeting with Georgia Southern is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 14, at Hancock Whitney Stadium. That game will kick off at 6:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN3.

Georgia Southern and South Alabama are both members of the Sun Belt Conference.

According to the university, kickoff times and broadcast details for South Alabama’s remaining 2021 games will be announced at a later date.
