Mobile Mayor Sam Jones said the city and some Tillmans Corner residents had expressed interest in possible annexation in an archived 2008 WKRG report, but he emphasized that no definite plan had been developed.
Jones said the city typically did not initiate annexation discussions by approaching communities; instead, communities generally contacted city officials to ask about the process.
He said three or four communities in Mobile County had asked about becoming part of the city. The report presented the Tillmans Corner discussion as preliminary and did not describe an adopted annexation proposal.
