MOBILE, Ala. — The University of South Alabama’s Black Alumni Society is using a rivalry weekend to raise money for students.
This year’s theme is “Boldly Brilliant: Our Culture, Our Strength, Our South.” Supported by the university’s National Alumni Association, the weekend is meant to celebrate Jaguar pride, build excitement around the South Alabama-Troy rivalry and increase the society’s visibility in the community while raising funds for scholarships.
The group’s treasurer, Dr. Loran Modisa, a member of the USA College of Medicine faculty and staff, and organization secretary K.C. Crusoe recently previewed the event.
