Alabama 2-Man Championship Brings $15,000-Plus Purse to Craft Farms, Peninsula Dec. 5-6
The Alabama 2-Man Championship comes to Craft Farms and Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club in Gulf Shores Dec. 5-6, with an estimated $15,000-plus in prizes and skins for amateur teams of all skill levels.
GULF SHORES, Ala. — Amateur golfers of every skill level will have a shot at an estimated $15,000-plus in cash prizes and skins when the Alabama 2-Man Championship comes to Gulf Shores on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 5-6. The two-day team event will be played at two of the area’s best-known courses, Craft Farms and Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club.
The championship is co-hosted by the Two-Man Tour and Good Game Sports. Organizers said the event is open to golfers of all abilities, and no verified handicap or prior Tour experience is needed to register. Active touring golf professionals are not eligible.
Payouts for at least a quarter of the field
The estimated purse of more than $15,000 includes cash prizes and skins. Organizers said at least 25 percent of the field will take home official payouts, a structure meant to reward more than just the teams at the very top of the leaderboard.
Daily team skins games will run throughout both rounds, giving teams another way to cash in on a single strong hole even if their overall score falls short.
How the flights work
The tournament uses a multi-flight format designed to group teams fairly. Saturday’s first-round scores determine which flight each team plays in on Sunday. Organizers said the setup keeps roughly 90 percent or more of the field mathematically in contention heading into the final round, so most teams will still have something to play for over the closing holes.
Flighted events like this are common in amateur golf because they let higher-handicap players compete against teams of similar ability instead of chasing scores posted by low-handicap players.
Scramble and shamble
Each day’s 18 holes are split between two formats. Teams will play nine holes as a traditional two-person scramble and nine holes in a shamble format. The order flips for the final round, so the nine played as a scramble on Saturday is played as a shamble on Sunday, and vice versa.
In a scramble, both players hit every shot, the team chooses the best ball, and both partners play their next shot from that spot until the ball is holed. A shamble starts the same way, with both players teeing off and the team choosing the better drive, but from there each player plays their own ball into the hole. Mixing the two formats rewards teams that can both team up on tough shots and hold their own individually.
The courses
Both venues are in Gulf Shores and are regular stops for visiting golfers along the Alabama coast.
- Craft Farms: The Craft Farms golf resort features 36 holes on two 18-hole championship courses, Cotton Creek and Cypress Bend, both designed by Arnold Palmer. Cotton Creek is known for wide fairways, strategic bunkering and large greens, while Cypress Bend brings rolling terrain, water hazards and undulating greens. The property is lined with pines, lakes and wetlands.
- Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club: Located on the Fort Morgan peninsula between Mobile Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, about 4 miles from the center of Gulf Shores, Peninsula offers 27 holes across three nines named Cypress, Lakes and Marsh. The Earl Stone design opened in 1995 and winds through roughly 800 acres of live oaks, cypress trees, lakes and natural vegetation near the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge.

About the Two-Man Tour
The Two-Man Tour launched in 2021 and now draws roughly 2,000 team entries nationwide each year. Its Alabama tournament series debuted in 2023, with stops that have included Gunter’s Landing and courses on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.
During the 2026 season, 146 teams entered the Alabama series and took home a combined $47,340 in cash prizes and skins.
Good Game Sports and the Two-Man Tour have teamed up on the coast before. The partners co-hosted the Alabama Two-Man Challenge at Gulf Shores Golf Club earlier this year, Feb. 28-March 1, an event organizers billed as drawing teams from across the Southeast.
A busy season for local golf
The championship adds to a busy calendar of local golf events this fall, including charity scrambles at Craft Farms and other area courses.
How to enter
Teams can register through the Two-Man Tour’s Alabama tournament listings. Because flights are set by Saturday’s scores, teams do not need to submit a handicap to enter. Players should check the Tour’s event page for entry fees, tee times and registration deadlines, and organizers encourage teams to sign up early.
