Forestry and logging professionals in southwest Alabama will have a chance to earn continuing education credit this week at a workshop hosted at LP Building Solutions in Thomasville.

The extension programs of Alabama A&M University and Auburn University will present the 2026 Southwest Alabama PLM and CFE workshop on Friday. The event allows attendees to earn credit hours needed to maintain their Professional Logging Manager (PLM) certification or fulfill Continuing Forester Education (CFE) requirements.

The workshop will include a tour of the LP Building Solutions mill. Organizers ask that participants wear long pants and closed-toed shoes for the tour.

The event runs from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Lunch will be provided, and the workshop is free to attend, though pre-registration is required.

LP Building Solutions is located at 1500 North Clarke Industrial Road in Thomasville.
