Mobile police have charged 35-year-old Cyrus King with murder in the shooting death of 50-year-old Michael Cannon on Dauphin Island Parkway.
How the case unfolded
Officers were called to the 500 block of Dauphin Island Parkway near Calmes Street around 9 p.m. on a Thursday after a report of a single shot. They found Cannon suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in the driveway of a home, where evidence markers dotted the pavement, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Within two days, investigators had identified both victim and shooter, and King was in custody facing a murder charge.
