The word that comes up again and again at the Battle-in-Bama car show is custom — and the 2022 edition gave fans plenty of examples. Promoters capped the field at 1,300 vehicles and hit the number, drawing one of the biggest turnouts in the Mobile event’s history.
Promoter Craig Rowley said the show’s range is what sets it apart, covering everything automotive and custom-built under one roof.
From Hot Rods to Mini Trucks
“If you’re into any kind of automotive, custom field, it has everything — from hot rods to mini trucks to lifted trucks to motorcycles; you name it, it’s got it,” Rowley said.
A Show Truck With a Mission
Among the entries was Samuel Mirabella’s “Zombie Response Team” SUV, a build he showed off with obvious pride. Mirabella said the truck was built for more than judging lanes — it doubles as a family cruiser meant to make people smile.
“It’s good to have a family cruiser and family time,” he said. The mix of show machines and everyday drivers once again made Battle-in-Bama a springtime fixture for Gulf Coast gearheads and their families.
