Four households have been recognized with the latest round of Beautification Awards for going above and beyond to keep the community looking its best.
The Recipients
The Beautification Board recently awarded the following recipients for their outstanding properties:

- Jeff and Laura Floyd
- Paul and Karrie Ronan, 1337 West Fairway Dr.
- Rick and Tobi Waters, 18524 Treasure Oaks Rd.
The board invites residents to join in congratulating these community members on receiving the latest Beautification Awards.
What a Beautification Board Does
Beautification boards are volunteer bodies appointed to encourage and recognize the upkeep and appearance of private and commercial property. Their tools are deliberately non-regulatory: they recognize good work rather than enforce standards, which is a different function from code enforcement and generally a more welcome one.
Award programs of this kind work on a straightforward premise. Well-maintained properties raise the visual standard of a street, and neighbors tend to respond to what is happening around them. Recognizing the households already investing that effort is inexpensive, and it makes visible something that otherwise goes unremarked.
Most boards evaluate on criteria including landscaping quality and design, general maintenance, seasonal color, hardscaping and overall curb appeal — with emphasis typically on sustained upkeep rather than a single impressive installation.
Two Open Seats
The Beautification Board is seeking two new members to fill open positions.
Residents interested in serving, or in nominating a residential or commercial property, can do both through the Beautification Board.
Volunteer board service of this kind is a low-barrier entry point into local civic participation. It generally involves a modest monthly time commitment, requires no professional credential, and offers a direct look at how municipal advisory bodies operate — which is useful background for residents who later consider other boards or commissions.
Nominating a Property
Nominations are open to both residential and commercial properties. Residents who notice a home or business that has been consistently well kept, or that has recently been substantially improved, can submit it for consideration through the board.
