GECA Sets Aug. 22 and Aug. 24 Auditions for ‘The Addams Family’

The Greater Escambia Council for the Arts (GECA) announced this week that auditions for its upcoming production of “The Addams Family” will be held on two dates later this month: Saturday, Aug. 22, at 10 a.m. and Monday, Aug. 24, at 6:30 p.m.

GECA is a community arts organization serving Atmore and the surrounding Escambia County area, and its productions are typically staged with local volunteer performers alongside community members who handle direction, costuming, sets and other production roles. “The Addams Family” is a Broadway musical comedy based on the macabre cartoon characters created by Charles Addams, later popularized through television and film adaptations, and it has become a popular choice for community and regional theaters thanks to its blend of dark comedy, family themes and musical numbers.
