Joey Jones Radio Show Returns to WNSP for Second Season Aug. 25 at Baumhower’s

The Joey Jones Radio Show returns to WNSP 105.5 FM on Aug. 25, airing live from Baumhower's Wings Restaurant on Tuesdays before South Alabama football games.

MOBILE, Ala. — The Joey Jones Radio Show will begin its second season Aug. 25, the University of South Alabama announced Tuesday.

The program will again air live from Baumhower’s Wings Restaurant on Airport Boulevard and will be broadcast on WNSP 105.5 FM from noon to 1 p.m.

Format and Schedule

The show features South Alabama head football coach Joey Jones and host Lee Shirvanian, along with interviews with Jaguars assistant coaches and other athletic department staff members.

Unlike last season, the show will not air every week. It is scheduled for the Tuesdays before Jaguar games, along with the Aug. 25 opener and Nov. 17, the Tuesday after the season finale.

Three-Year Commitment

Baumhower’s Wings Restaurant has made a three-year commitment to host the show.

“Baumhower’s Wings Restaurant in Mobile has been a supporter of University of South Alabama athletics for several years,” said Gary Saunders, general manager of Jaguar Sports Marketing. “Their three-year commitment to host the Joey Jones Radio Show is another example of the confidence they have in our first-year football program. We look forward to working with them on future Jaguar Sports Marketing/IMG College programs.”

Restaurant CEO Bob Baumhower said the company is glad to continue its support.

“We at Baumhower’s Wings Restaurant are happy to support the University of South Alabama and the athletic program,” Baumhower said. “This year we are excited to once again host the Joey Jones Radio Show and support the inaugural season of Jaguar football. Coach Jones and his staff have put together a competitive team, and we are honored to be part of it.”

Inaugural Season Approaches

The show’s return comes as South Alabama prepares for its first season of football. The Jaguars open their schedule Sept. 5 against Hargrave Military Academy at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
