Mobile County Deputy Pursued Suspected Rolling Meth Lab in 2008

A Mobile County deputy pursued a vehicle from Tillmans Corner into Moss Point, Mississippi, after an attempted traffic stop near Sperry Road and Old Pascagoula Road in 2008, according to an archived local news report. The report said the driver accelerated away and that items were thrown from the vehicle during the pursuit, turning a routine stop attempt into a multi-state chase that crossed the state line before it ended.
The chase ended after the vehicle crashed in a ditch on Franklin Creek Road across the state line. Authorities said two men ran from the vehicle but were taken into custody, with a sheriff’s K-9 unit helping locate one of them.
Investigators reported finding suspected components of a rolling methamphetamine lab, a pistol, prescription pills and methamphetamine in the vehicle.
