MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama baseball, unbeaten through four games, hosts three nationally ranked teams this weekend at Eddie Stanky Field, while the No. 22 Jaguars softball team hosts the 2015 South Alabama Invitational at Jaguar Field.
Baseball Hosts Ranked Trio
The Jaguars are 4-0 after beating Auburn 7-4 on Tuesday. South Alabama, No. 13 Maryland, No. 16 Arkansas and No. 22 Central Florida will each play three games in three days in a round-robin format.
- Friday: Arkansas vs. UCF, 2 p.m.; Maryland vs. South Alabama, 6:30 p.m.
- Saturday: Maryland vs. UCF, 2 p.m.; South Alabama vs. Arkansas, 6:30 p.m.
- Sunday: Maryland vs. Arkansas, 10 a.m.; South Alabama vs. UCF, 2 p.m.
Softball Hosts South Alabama Invitational
South Alabama’s softball team enters the weekend at 8-2 after its seventh consecutive win, at Nicholls State on Wednesday. The Jaguars host Chattanooga, Ball State, Sam Houston State and Jacksonville in the invitational.
- Friday: vs. Chattanooga, 6 p.m.
- Saturday: vs. Ball State, 1:30 p.m.; vs. Sam Houston State, 6 p.m.
- Sunday: vs. Jacksonville, 1:30 p.m.
Men’s Basketball at Georgia Southern
With four games left in the regular season, the South Alabama men’s basketball team is sixth in the Sun Belt Conference standings. Only the top eight teams qualify for the Sun Belt Conference tournament in New Orleans.
The Jaguars (9-18, 7-9 Sun Belt) are coming off a 79-51 loss to Georgia State. Their final four regular-season opponents are the two teams at the top of the conference standings and the two at the bottom.
South Alabama plays at second-place Georgia Southern (18-6, 11-4) on Saturday in Statesboro, Ga.
