South Alabama Baseball Opens Annual Red-Blue World Series at Eddie Stanky Field

South Alabama baseball wraps up fall practice with its annual three-game Red-Blue World Series at Eddie Stanky Field, Thursday through Saturday.

MOBILE, Ala. — The South Alabama baseball team opens its annual Red-Blue World Series on Thursday at Eddie Stanky Field, wrapping up the Jaguars’ fall practice schedule with a three-game intrasquad series.

Red-Blue World Series Schedule

The series runs through Saturday:

  • Game 1: Thursday, 3:30 p.m.
  • Game 2: Friday, 3:30 p.m.
  • Game 3: Saturday, 11 a.m.

The third game will be played regardless of the results of the first two.

Probable Starting Pitchers

Ben Taylor is scheduled to start the opener for the Red team against left-hander Jared Gates of the Blue team.

In Game 2, Locke St. John gets the start for the Red team, with James Traylor taking the mound for the Blue team.

The finale features Hunter Soleymani starting for the Red team and Dillon Buhrkuhl for the Blue team.

End of Fall Practice

The Red-Blue World Series traditionally marks the end of fall practice for South Alabama baseball, giving the coaching staff a final look at the roster in game situations before the offseason. Full rosters for the Red and Blue teams had not been released as of Thursday.

South Alabama competes in the Sun Belt Conference and plays its home games at Eddie Stanky Field on the university’s Mobile campus.
