LAS CRUCES, N.M. — South Alabama men’s basketball closes its non-conference schedule Saturday at New Mexico State, with tipoff set for 8 p.m. Central.
The Jaguars are 6-6 overall and 0-5 on the road and are seeking their first road victory before Sun Belt Conference play begins. New Mexico State is 10-5 overall and 5-1 at home.
The game will be broadcast on 105.5 FM WNSP and at WNSP.com.
Aggies’ Size Inside
New Mexico State features one of the tallest frontcourts in the country. Center Sim Bhullar stands 7-foot-5, Tshilidzi Nephawe is 6-foot-11 and Renaldo Dixon is 6-foot-10.

Jaguars Return From Christmas Break
Saturday’s game will be South Alabama’s first in a week. The Jaguars lost their most recent game at Arkansas after pulling within three points in the second half before the Razorbacks pulled away. The team then had the Christmas week off.

South Alabama is averaging 73.2 points per game and allowing 67.1. New Mexico State averages 74.7 points and allows 70.1.
Graves’ Focus
First-year head coach Matthew Graves has emphasized consistent effort at both ends of the floor, making the extra pass and getting the ball into the paint. The Jaguars have shot well from 3-point range in first halves this season.
