MOBILE, Ala. — DeAndré Coleman recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, and South Alabama pulled away late to defeat West Florida 67-58 on Monday night at the Mitchell Center.
The Jaguars closed the game on a 12-5 run over the final four minutes to put the Argonauts away.
Tilford Leads Scorers
Domonic Tilford led South Alabama with 16 points. Brandon Davis added 12 points and eight rebounds, giving the Jaguars three players in double figures.
Perfect At The Line
South Alabama made all 23 of its free throw attempts, a key factor in a game in which the Jaguars shot just over 40 percent from the field.
Defensively, the Jaguars held West Florida to 38 percent shooting overall. The Argonauts were more effective from long range, making 50 percent of their 3-point attempts.
Both teams committed 15 turnovers.

Two West Florida players shared team scoring honors with 14 points apiece.
South Alabama, coached by Ronnie Arrow, competes in the Sun Belt Conference and plays its home games at the Mitchell Center on the USA campus in Mobile.
