MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama has sold its entire ticket allotment for the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl, and head coach Joey Jones announced Monday that the Jaguars will wear their Jungle Smoke uniforms in the first bowl game in program history.
Allotment Gone by Midday
The university sent an email Monday morning announcing that only 50 tickets remained in South Alabama’s allotment for the game. The remaining tickets were sold before noon.
The sellout follows the athletic department’s “Mission: Montgomery” campaign, launched after the Jaguars accepted the bowl invitation, which urged supporters to buy tickets and travel to the game. Tickets were first offered to season ticket holders and Jaguar Athletic Fund donors before going on sale to the general public.
Jungle Smoke Returns
Jones made the uniform announcement Monday on his weekly radio show. The Camellia Bowl will be the second time South Alabama has worn the Jungle Smoke uniforms. The Jaguars debuted them Nov. 28 against Navy.
