MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama football held the first media day in program history Monday, less than two weeks before the Jaguars kick off their inaugural season.
Coaches and Players Take Questions
Head coach Joey Jones was joined by offensive coordinator Greg Gregory and defensive coordinator Bill Clark, along with players Jon Griffin, Charlie Higgenbotham and Anthony Mostella.
The program included a tour of the team’s fieldhouse and lunch before the coaches and players met with reporters for interviews.
A Program Built From Scratch
The 2009 season will be the first in South Alabama football history. Jones, who was hired to build the program, leads a coaching staff that includes Gregory on offense and Clark on defense.
The Jaguars will play their home games at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile.
Media day comes as South Alabama wraps up preseason practice, which has included scrimmages at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in recent days, and turns its attention to the season opener.
