MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama received votes in the weekly Non-AQ Top 10 college football poll this week.
The Jaguars picked up two points, not enough to break into the top 10. The poll ranks teams from conferences without automatic Bowl Championship Series bids.
Fresno State Remains on Top
Fresno State held the No. 1 spot with eight first-place votes and 98 points. Northern Illinois was second with the other two first-place votes.
Sun Belt Conference member Texas State ranked No. 10. Wyoming and Navy dropped out.

About the Jaguars
South Alabama is in its first season as a full member of the Football Bowl Subdivision and competes in the Sun Belt Conference. The Jaguars are in their fifth season of football under head coach Joey Jones, who has led the program since it began play in 2009. South Alabama plays its home games at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile.
Three other Sun Belt programs appeared in this week’s results: No. 10 Texas State, plus Louisiana and Western Kentucky among the teams receiving votes.
