South Alabama Football Enters Final Week of Spring Practice Ahead of Red-Blue Game

South Alabama wraps up spring practice this week with a player draft ahead of Saturday's free Red-Blue Spring Game at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.

MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama football held its final full practice of the spring Tuesday morning as the Jaguars prepare for Saturday’s Red-Blue Spring Game at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.

The Jaguars have one more workout, a session in shorts on Thursday morning, before the game, which kicks off at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Draft to Set the Rosters

Coach Joey Jones will divide his staff into two coaching groups for the game, and the players will be split between the squads through a draft later in the week.

Game Format

The first half will consist of two 10-minute quarters. After a 10-minute break, the teams will play two 12-minute quarters in the second half with a running clock that will not stop for normal stoppages in play.

Fan Information

Admission and parking are free.

  • The Ladd-Peebles Stadium parking lot opens at 10 a.m. for tailgating.
  • The USA College of Medicine will hold its annual Gumbo and Chili Cookoff in the east parking lot.
  • Stadium gates open at 1 p.m. Seating will be available in all areas except the east stands.
  • Limited concessions will be sold in the west concourse, where JagWear, the Jag Gals and the USA Athletic Ticket Office will also be set up.
  • Following the game, fans may go onto the field for 30 minutes to get autographs and take photos with Jaguar players and coaches.
