MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama men’s basketball coach Ronnie Arrow has been elected chair of the Sun Belt Conference men’s basketball coaches committee, a position he will hold for a two-year term.
Arrow is in his 14th overall season as head coach of the Jaguars.
Role of the Chair
As chair, Arrow will advise and make recommendations to the conference’s Senior Woman Administrator’s Committee, the Athletic Director’s Committee and Sun Belt Commissioner Karl Benson.
The committee’s work covers student-athlete welfare, sporting behavior, competition, scheduling and other matters that affect the competitive status of men’s basketball in the league.
“Anytime you’re elected to do a job, especially by your peers in your profession, it is an honor,” Arrow said.
Season Opener at Florida State
Arrow and the Jaguars open the 2012-13 season Nov. 9 on the road at Florida State. South Alabama plays its home games at the Mitchell Center in Mobile.
