MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama announced Wednesday that it has finalized a contract to play UCLA at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., during the 2022 season.
Game Details
The game is scheduled for Sept. 17, 2022. UCLA will be the first Pac-12 Conference opponent on South Alabama’s football schedule.
Power Conference Opponents
South Alabama has played four games against Southeastern Conference opponents: two against Mississippi State, the first in Starkville and the second last season in Mobile, along with games against South Carolina and Tennessee.
The Jaguars have also played twice at NC State in Raleigh, N.C. They will host the Wolfpack this season in Mobile to complete a three-game contract.
This fall, South Alabama will face its first Big Ten opponent when it plays at Nebraska on Sept. 12. The Jaguars are also scheduled to begin a three-game series with Big 12 member Oklahoma State in 2017.
About the Jaguars
South Alabama, which began playing football in 2009 under coach Joey Jones, competes in the Sun Belt Conference and plays its home games at Ladd-Peebles Stadium. The Jaguars made their first bowl appearance last December in the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl.
