MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama quarterback C.J. Bennett has announced that he intends to transfer to Murray State, where he will be eligible to play immediately for the Racers.
Bennett made the announcement in posts on Facebook and Instagram.
“When I committed to South I had no idea it would be this tough to say good bye,” Bennett wrote.
Three Seasons Under Center
Bennett became South Alabama’s starting quarterback for the final three games of the 2010 season and held the job throughout the 2011 season.
He opened the 2012 season as the starter but split time with junior transfer Ross Metheny. Following the Jaguars’ open week, Metheny was named the starter beginning with South Alabama’s sixth game of the season.
