Downtown Mobile Closes Block of Dauphin Street to Hang Holiday Ceiling of Lights
Mobile closed Dauphin Street between Joachim and Conception for three days to install the holiday Ceiling of Lights downtown.
The holiday season’s signature glow is returning to downtown Mobile. The city planned to close a section of Dauphin Street for several hours over three days so crews could install the popular Ceiling of Lights overhead.
Dauphin Street between Joachim and Conception streets was set to close Monday, Nov. 15 through Wednesday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day while workers stringed the lights above the roadway.
About the display
The Ceiling of Lights dates to 2011, when city workers first installed the infrastructure for the holiday display over a block of Dauphin Street.
