Anglers can cast for a cause later this month when the Anchor Cross Cancer Foundation holds its fourth annual bass fishing tournament at Live Oak Landing near Stockton.
The catch-and-release tournament gets under way Saturday, Oct. 13, at 6:30 a.m., with cash prizes waiting for the top five anglers at weigh-in.
Organizers Mary Kathryn McMillon of the Southern Cancer Center and foundation director Joan Kellis are inviting teams to take part, with every dollar raised supporting the foundation’s mission of advancing local cancer research, community education and patient assistance across the Gulf Coast region.
The Stockton venue sits on the lower Delta in Baldwin County, giving competitors access to some of the region’s best bass water while raising money close to home.
