Franklin Primary Health Center will host a Community Health Fair and Back to School Bash on Friday, July 24, combining free medical screenings with back-to-school essentials for Mobile families in a single morning event.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Franklin Medical Mall, 1303 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in Mobile, and is built to knock out several back-to-school errands at once: school supply giveaways, free haircuts, free snacks and refreshments, and free health, dental and vision checkups are all planned, alongside blood pressure checks and immunizations for children who need them before the new school year.
Alabama A&M University’s Mobile Nutrition Lab will also be on-site, adding a nutrition-education component to the health screenings. For younger attendees, organizers have built in a full slate of activities, including face painting, train rides, a bounce house and a “bubble bash zone,” aimed at making the event feel like a community celebration rather than a routine clinic visit.
Anyone seeking a vaccination at the event is asked to bring a photo ID and insurance card. The event is free and open to the community, combining preventive health care access with back-to-school preparation at a single, centrally located Mobile venue.
