Carnival midway with a lit Ferris wheel after darkThe midway lights up as the Greater Gulf State Fair returns to Mobile.

The Greater Gulf State Fair runs October 21–30 at the Mobile fairgrounds, with a grandstand lineup that mixes rock, country and rodeo alongside discounted-ride nights and free daily entertainment.

The fair opens Friday, Oct. 21, with Midnight Madness, and Saturday brings Jukebox Superheroes to the Budweiser Grandstand. Sunday, Oct. 23, features Poison frontman Bret Michaels in the fair’s biggest concert booking, followed by two nights of PRCA Professional Rodeo paired with Coke 2-for-1 ride nights on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 24–25.

Wednesday, Oct. 26, is Wacky Wednesday with dollar admission plus Bulls and Barrels action. Country singer Sammy Kershaw plays the grandstand Thursday, Oct. 27, which is also Pay-One-Price wristband day on the midway. The final weekend wraps with another Midnight Madness on Friday, Oct. 28, before the fair closes Sunday, Oct. 30.

Free-with-admission entertainment runs daily: the Speed Art Man, magician Belmont, the King BMX Stunt Show, blacksmith demonstrations, a Rock & Gem Showcase, racing pigs, a petting zoo, agricultural and 4-H exhibits, competitive and photography displays, and the Granpa Cratchet show.

Fair organizers are promoting advance ticket discounts ahead of opening day.
