Meghan Dunn Named to All-Sun Belt Third Team, Extending South Alabama Streak to 12 Seasons

South Alabama's Meghan Dunn earned All-Sun Belt Third Team honors, extending the Lady Jaguars' streak of all-conference selections to 12 straight seasons.

MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama guard Meghan Dunn was named to the All-Sun Belt Conference Third Team on Tuesday, the first postseason all-conference honor of her career.

Dunn was selected by the league’s coaches and media. Her selection extends South Alabama’s streak to 12 consecutive seasons with at least one Lady Jaguar named to an All-Sun Belt team.

Strong Finish in Final Game

Dunn closed her career with 23 points and four steals in South Alabama’s 60-57 overtime win over UT-Arlington. She scored four points in the final seconds of regulation to force overtime, then made four free throws in the extra period to help secure the victory. On defense, she blocked a 3-point attempt that would have tied the game.

Consistent Scorer

Dunn finished the season tied for 10th in the Sun Belt in scoring. She reached double figures 20 times during the season, including 13 of South Alabama’s final 18 conference games, despite drawing focused attention from opposing defenses.

Moved to Point Guard

Injuries to guards Brittany Webb and Colby Davis forced Dunn to take over at point guard late in the season. Over the final nine games at that position, she averaged 13.1 points and 3.2 assists per game.

The Lady Jaguars are coached by Terry Fowler and play their home games at the Mitchell Center.
