South Alabama Women Host Sun Belt Leader Arkansas State in Pack the House Game Without Brittany Webb
South Alabama hosts Sun Belt leader Arkansas State in its annual Pack the House game at the Mitchell Center, playing for the first time since point guard Brittany Webb's season-ending knee injury.
MOBILE, Ala. — The South Alabama women host Sun Belt Conference leader Arkansas State at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Mitchell Center in the program’s annual Pack the House game, with elementary school students from across the Mobile area invited to attend.
The Lady Jaguars enter at 7-13 overall and 5-5 in Sun Belt play.
Webb Lost for Season
South Alabama is playing for the first time since a road loss at Troy almost a week ago. The Lady Jaguars led early in that game before their play slipped, and starting point guard Brittany Webb went down with an injury. Troy took advantage to pull away.
Webb suffered a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season.
Without their starting point guard, the Lady Jaguars committed 27 turnovers against Troy and shot 25.8 percent from the field in the second half.
Adjusting the Lineup
The break between games gave head coach Terry Fowler and his staff time to rework the rotation to fill the void left by Webb’s injury.
South Alabama is trying to hold its position in the league standings. The top eight teams in the Sun Belt qualify for the conference tournament in New Orleans.
