Two Armed Men Rob Mobile Convenience Store Before Dawn

Mobile police are asking for the public’s help identifying two men who robbed a Circle K convenience store on Dauphin Street at gunpoint in the early morning hours, according to the Mobile Police Department.

Officers responded just before 3 a.m. to the store, located near Interstate 65, after a clerk reported being confronted by two men dressed head to toe in black. Both suspects wore dark shirts pulled over the lower halves of their faces, along with black gloves and skull caps, making identification difficult. Police said one of the two men was armed with a handgun during the encounter.

The pair demanded cash from the register, and after taking the money, they fled on foot heading east toward the Midtown Park West area, according to police. No injuries were reported during the robbery, and the clerk was not harmed.

Investigators described the suspects as two thin Black men believed to be in their late teens to early twenties, both with medium complexions. One was estimated at around 5-foot-8, while the other was described as roughly 5-foot-4. Both men are wanted on first-degree robbery charges in connection with the case.

The Mobile Police Department is continuing to investigate the case and is asking anyone with information about the robbery or the identity of the two suspects to contact MPD directly.

As of the latest update from police, no arrests had been announced in connection with the robbery.

What the charge means

Under Alabama law, robbery becomes first-degree robbery when the person is armed with a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument or causes serious physical injury. It is a Class A felony, punishable by 10 to 99 years or life in prison.
