One woman is dead and two other people are fighting life-threatening injuries after a Wednesday night shooting inside a neighborhood home off Cottage Hill Road, and police believe someone the three victims knew pulled the trigger.

Mobile police officers received a report of a shooting in the 7600 block of Elm Circle and responded to a home in the area at around 11:16 p.m. Wednesday, according to a Thursday morning statement from the department. A woman was found outside the house with a fatal gunshot wound. Inside the house, officers found a man and a woman with life-threatening injuries; both were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Investigators believe a man the three victims knew shot them during what police describe as a \”domestic altercation.\” No arrests had been made as of the time of the department’s statement.
