MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama baseball will hold its First Pitch Banquet on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the USS Alabama Battleship Pavilion, with former Jaguar David Freese, the most valuable player of the 2011 World Series and National League Championship Series, among the featured guests.
The event runs from 5:30 to 8 p.m. and will also feature former and current Jaguars who have reached the major leagues, the South Alabama coaching staff and the 2012 Jaguar baseball team.
Major Leaguers Confirmed
In addition to Freese, former South Alabama players P.J. Walters, Marlon Anderson, Jon Lieber, Lance Johnson and Allen Battle have confirmed they will attend. Organizers said additional major leaguers may confirm.
Specialty Tables and Tickets
Reservations are available on a first-come, first-served basis for specialty tables hosted by a major leaguer, first-year head coach Mark Calvi, former head coach Steve Kittrell or a current South Alabama player. Individual tickets cost $35 per person.
Along with the speakers, the program will include a silent auction, music, a cash bar and a buffet dinner catered by Naman’s Catering.
