MOBILE, Ala. — The University of South Alabama will hold a basketball Fan Day on Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 5 to 7 p.m., giving fans a chance to meet the men’s and women’s teams before the 2012-13 season.
Teams and Coaches Introduced
Men’s head coach Ronnie Arrow and women’s head coach Rick Pietri will both address the crowd after the two teams are introduced. Players will then be available to meet fans and sign autographs.
Contests and Activities
The basketball Fan Day program includes:
- A 3-point shooting contest
- A game of knockout
- A dunk contest featuring South Alabama players
- Appearances by mascot Southpaw, the cheerleaders and the Prowlers
The USA Bookstore will sell Jaguars merchandise at the event, and ticket office representatives will be on hand to sell season tickets, flex plans and single-game tickets.
Student Giveaways
South Alabama students will receive a free hot dog and Pepsi and will be eligible to win an iPad and a big-screen television.
Both basketball programs compete in the Sun Belt Conference and play their home games at the Mitchell Center on the South Alabama campus.
