MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama men’s basketball will hold a public scrimmage Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. at the Striplin Practice Facility.
The intrasquad scrimmage is open to the public.
Meet and Greet at the Mitchell Center
On Wednesday, fans can meet men’s coach Ronnie Arrow, women’s coach Rick Pietri and the members of both basketball teams during a meet-and-greet on the main floor of the Mitchell Center from 5 to 7 p.m.
The event includes an autograph session with coaches and players, and fans are invited to bring memorabilia to be signed and cameras for photos. Admission and parking are free.
Volleyball Follows
After the meet-and-greet, South Alabama volleyball hosts Jackson State at 7 p.m. at Jag Gym.
- Tuesday, 4 p.m.: Men’s basketball public scrimmage, Striplin Practice Facility
- Wednesday, 5-7 p.m.: Basketball meet-and-greet, Mitchell Center
- Wednesday, 7 p.m.: Volleyball vs. Jackson State, Jag Gym
Season Approaching
The scrimmage and fan event come as both South Alabama basketball programs prepare for the 2012-13 season in the Sun Belt Conference. The Jaguars play their home games at the Mitchell Center.
Update: Fan Day Details
The Wednesday event at the Mitchell Center is being billed as Basketball Fan Day. The 2012-13 South Alabama men’s and women’s basketball teams will be introduced, and players will compete against USA student organizations in free-throw, three-point shooting and dunk contests.
Fans can also take photos with the mascot, SouthPaw, and the Jaguar cheerleaders, and the USA dance team, the Prowlers, will perform. Free parking is available in the Mitchell Center’s south lot off Old Shell Road.
The Athletic Ticket Office will be on site with information on season tickets, flex plans, group outings and individual game tickets for the 2012-13 season.
