South Alabama Basketball Hosts Spring Hill in Exhibition After Canada Tour

South Alabama hosts Spring Hill College in an exhibition Monday at the Mitchell Center after going 2-1 on a preseason tour of Canada.

MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama men’s basketball hosts Spring Hill College in an exhibition game Monday night at the Mitchell Center, with tipoff set for 7:05 p.m.

How to Follow

The game will not air on WNSP 105.5 FM because of the station’s Monday Night Football coverage of the New Orleans Saints, but it will stream at wnsp.com. Subscribers to the Jaguars All-Access service on USAJaguars.com can also watch the game.

Fourth Preseason Game

The exhibition is South Alabama’s fourth preseason game. The Jaguars went 2-1 on a three-game exhibition tour of Canada.

“The biggest thing is, we got the experience,” coach Ronnie Arrow said of the trip. “Unfortunately when we got back and we got started, Aug went out for three weeks and Javier was out for two weeks, so that put them behind. We’re just now getting everybody back healthy. We have some catching up to do.”

Arrow said the team still has work to do. “We still need a lot of work on different things,” he said. “We’re working on the defensive part of all five guys on the floor getting after it. Offensively, with the things we’ve put in, the personnel is catching on a lot more quickly than last year.”

Series History

Monday’s game is the 20th meeting between the Jaguars and the Badgers, with South Alabama leading the series 16-3. South Alabama won last season’s meeting 88-64 behind 18 points from Augustine Rubit and a double-double from Mychal Ammons.

“We hope that our fans come out and watch,” Arrow said. “I know Spring Hill will bring a nice group and we hope to have all of our fans come see what we have for this year.”

Scouting Spring Hill

Spring Hill is 0-2, having lost 74-70 in overtime to Fisk and 83-46 to No. 24 Southern-New Orleans. The Badgers return four starters, including former Jaguar Todd Martin, their top returning scorer.
