South Alabama Earns No. 6 Seed, Will Face Troy to Open Sun Belt Men’s Basketball Tournament

South Alabama is the No. 6 seed in the Sun Belt men's basketball tournament in Hot Springs and opens against No. 11 Troy on March 3.

MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama will enter the Sun Belt Conference men’s basketball tournament as the No. 6 seed and will open against in-state rival and No. 11 seed Troy in the first round in Hot Springs, Ark.

The Jaguars finished 8-8 in conference play. The tournament runs March 3-6, with the winner of the South Alabama-Troy game advancing to face third-seeded Denver in the quarterfinals.

Top-seeded Middle Tennessee finished three games ahead of second-seeded Arkansas-Little Rock and third-seeded Denver, which both went 11-5 in league play. The top five seeds receive first-round byes.
