MOBILE, Ala. — South Alabama will travel to Columbia, S.C., to face South Carolina on Nov. 22, 2014, according to Southeastern Conference schedules released Wednesday, rather than playing at Georgia as previously announced.
The Jaguars had been scheduled to visit the University of Georgia in Athens during the 2014 season. The SEC schedules released Wednesday instead show South Alabama and fellow Sun Belt member Troy trading SEC opponents.
Troy Shifted to Georgia
Under the released schedules, Troy will now play at Georgia on Sept. 13, 2014. Troy had originally been scheduled to face South Carolina, while South Alabama now takes that date in Columbia against the Gamecocks.
No explanation for the change was included with the schedule release.
Rest of the 2014 Non-Conference Slate
South Alabama’s 2014 non-conference schedule also includes:
- A road game at Kent State, the third and final game of a two-for-one agreement between the schools.
- A home game against Mississippi State, the second game of a two-for-one agreement.
- A home game against Navy, completing a home-and-home series.
